Come one come all! This weekend, the Modoc District Fair will be celebrating 100 years of Modoc County Memories in Cedarville, California. Since 2015, the Modoc Heritage Foundation has worked in partnership with the Modoc District Fair Board to run the annual fair. Admission is free, and events kick off on Thursday at 8am with an Open Horse Show and Junior Gymkhana.
This year, there is no shortage of events to pack your itinerary with! Our office will be hosting the Ag building, and we will have information about all of our current projects and highlights from this year. Come by and see us! Other exhibitors include Modoc County Cattlewomen, Master Food Preservers, the Ag department, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Modoc Harvest, NCO Railway, the Farm Bureau, Surprise Valley 4H, Surprise Valley FFA, and Surprise Valley Civic Club. Join Modoc County’s first class of Master Food Preservers on Saturday from 12pm-2pm for live demonstrations and try your hand at making herbed salts.
The Carnival and Midway will open at 12pm Friday- Sunday, and presale tickets are available for 25$ here. Get your groove on Saturday night with headliner Cale Moon, who will be performing from 6pm-9pm. Tickets may be purchased in advance for 15$ or for 20$ at the gate. A schedule of events is available here, and is summarized below. We hope to see you there!
